Cherry

Cherry wood is a dense, even grained hardwood that will darken as it ages. Cherry is notable for its distinctive grain and “gum spots”, dark markings that are not a defect, but a characteristic of real cherry wood, not a “cherry” stain on a less expensive wood. Cherry wood is used in bedroom, dining room, family and living room, and office furniture. Designs in Oak Furniture carry furniture from many American manufacturers that still build in solid cherry, in styles ranging from traditional to sleek contemporary designs. Cherry wood available in stains ranging from natural to extremely dark colors, giving the customer the choice of personalizing their furniture to suit their tastes and lifestyles. Recently, we have been offering furniture called “rustic” or “character” cherry, made from solid boards in which the builder leaves in the naturally occurring knots and blemishes to give a warmer, less formal appearance.
